Skip Jackson & the Shantons ‘I’m Onto You Girl’. One of the best crossover dancers ever! A perfect piece of early 70’s male group soul. Widely known among collectors and dj’s, but i only recently managed to secure a copy after a long time on my wants list. The b-side is just as good. ‘Promise that You’ll Wait’ floats on in perfect sweet soul tempo and Skip sings of heartbreak as letters from his girl back home never arrive to his godforsaken battlefield in Vietnam.
